We cannot operate our business without the backing of our supporters. These people are our friends as well as our key suppliers and supporters. We want to tell the world about them.
Flow have been around multisport for many years originally set up by 5-time Coast To Coast winner Richard Ussher and Andrew Martin.
Since 2017, Flow Kayaks has been owned and managed by Keith Jessop and Chris Stag and they handmake their boats to order in Christchurch. Keith and Chris have had a long involvement in the multisport scene with both actively racing still and they been extremely instrumental in helping get River Ninja Kayaks off the ground and we are exceptionally pleased to have their kayaks, paddles and accessories in our rental fleet.
If you are preparing for the kayak stage of the Coast to Coast, Canterbury Kayaking offers skills coaching, grade 2 certification, and guided trips through the Waimakariri Gorge.
Founded by professional kayak coach Sam Milne in 2012, Sam is the most experienced instructor on the Waimakariri River. He’s worked with over 1,000 athletes and specialises in helping first-timers achieve Coast to Coast success. When you train with Canterbury Kayaking, River Ninja can supply you with a kayak model of your choice and arrange all the logistics.
There is hardly anyone with a paddle in their hand that doesn’t know about Len, Kate, Sam and the rest of the TopSport team as they have been involved in the kayak for almost as long as multisport boats have been invented.
TopSport are one of the leading kayak coaching companies in the country with a particular focus on the Coast To Coast. From their tailored coaching courses through to guided river trips, there isn’t a rock on the Waimak that their team doesn’t know about.
You can be assured that at Coast To Coast, and many other events, you will see the yellow and pink colours of Team CP coached athletes competing themselves as well as the Team CP coaches out there doing it too. Team CP structure coaching packages to suit the weekend warrior to podium winners.
There is an extremely community and team focus within Team CP which is something that owner Richard Greer has been very careful to install in his business. For those who have met Richard, its not hard to see why – his enthusiastic approach is second to none, but then on race day he is just as hungry as anyone to push hard.
We have worked hard with Marcus Belcher and the team at Sign Foundry to have a brand that is simple, effective and easy to be seen by all. River Ninja evolved a few years ago from an off-the-cuff comment and has become Todd’s racing persona since so it was only natural that we developed this further into a kayak rental business.
The colours of the business represent the mountain, the road and the river and Sign Foundry have reflected these well for our business.
“ Looking forward to C2C 2023. Todd and River Ninja have been extremely helpful in getting my boat sorted for the event. He is always very helpful and responsive to emails. Can’t wait to get back on the Waimak.”
Jim Williams, North Carolina, USA
“I am travelling to New Zealand for the Coast to Coast race in February 2023, Todd at River Ninja Rentals has been really helpful, sending me lots of information about different options and then reserving me a suitable kayak for the race. I can’t wait to get over there and get paddling!”
Susie Peart, U.K
“River Ninjas were the perfect partners for my kiwi kayak racing adventure. I'd highly recommend them”
